Referral Process It is always advised that you discuss any plans for surgery with your own General Practitioner, who will be able to recommend a surgeon for you. However, Professor Sharpe is able to see patients without a referral from a General Practitioner. If it is decided that you will go ahead with surgery, then Professor Sharpe will wish to contact your General Practitioner prior to the procedure.
